Student Engagement & Traditions (SET) aims to provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore Tucson and the surrounding communities while building connections with fellow Wildcats outside of the classroom. Through organized off-campus experiences, students will have the opportunity to discover local attractions, cultural landmarks, recreational activities, and community spaces that showcase what Arizona has to offer while fostering a greater sense of belonging and community.
Through participation in experiential learning trips, students will build community, develop a
stronger sense of belonging, and gain confidence through hands-on experiences both on and off
campus.
Student Outcomes:
1. Explore Tucson and Beyond: Students will explore Tucson and surrounding
communities while learning about opportunities for engagement, recreation, culture, and
connection beyond the University of Arizona campus.
2. Connect to Campus Resources: Students will learn about additional experiential
learning opportunities, programs, and resources available through the University that
support their personal, academic, and professional growth.
3. Increase Access to Experiences: Students will have access to affordable and
cost-effective opportunities to explore, engage with, and learn from the local community.
4. Build Confidence and Belonging: Students will develop greater confidence navigating
new environments, connecting with others, and engaging with both the University and the
surrounding community.
5. Build Community Through Shared Experiences: Students will create meaningful
connections with their peers through hands-on experiences that encourage
relationship-building, community, and a stronger sense of belonging.
