Anthony Singleton

Hello! My name is Anthony, and I am originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina. This is my first year serving as the Senior Coordinator for Student Engagement, and I am honored to be in this role. I enjoy helping shape meaningful experiences that allow our students to build community, make connections, and find a sense of belonging here on campus. Outside of work, I love traveling and exploring new places. I recently traveled to Japan this summer and had the best
time experiencing a new country and culture! I also enjoy watching sci-fi movies and TV shows, spending time with friends, and playing ping pong, pickleball, and tennis. A fun fact about me is that I also love collecting water bottles and cups!

Graduate: M.A. Higher Education from University of Arizona

What makes you passionate about your role?

I have been passionate about student affairs and higher education ever since I was an undergraduate student myself. During that time, I was heavily involved on campus as an Orientation Leader, Career Coach, Student Ambassador, and in many other roles that helped shape the professional I am today. What makes me most passionate about my role is having the opportunity to help students find their voice, build confidence, and grow into the person they are meant to be. I truly believe you have to be passionate about this type of work because the relationships we build and the experiences we create can have a lasting impact on students. Student success is always at the forefront of the decisions I make, and being able to support students throughout their college journey and ultimately see them make it to graduation is one of the most rewarding feelings as a higher education professional.

If you were a topping on a burger, what would you be and why?

If I were a topping on a burger, I would be bacon! Not every place has a bacon cheeseburger, but they should! Bacon is the ultimate topping because it brings
everything together, adds that perfect crunchy layer, and takes the burger to the next level. I like to think that represents who I am in both my life and career. I strive to elevate the spaces I am in, bring something positive to the table, and help make the overall experience even better
